News Round-Up for the Week of August 17

The VN Game Den news round-up is here covering the week of August 17th!

Milky Way Prince New Trailer

A new trailer is out now for Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star, a visual novel that describes itself as being about “an abusive relationship, idealization, and intimacy.” It came out this week for the PC and will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at a later date.

Singular Matter Announced

A new science fiction visual novel called Singular Matter has been announced. It follows a scientist suffering from derealization, which prevents you from seeing depth, in a post-apocalyptic world.

Spooktober 2020 Begins Soon

The second annual Spooktober Visual Novel Jam is almost here. This game jam will run from August 29 to September 30 and challenges participants to create a visual novel related in some way to Halloween. After the creation phase in September, the entries will be played, streamed, and judged in October. VN Game Den will cover the winners here on the site.

BTS Universe Story Announced

Following the success of BTS World, a new mobile game about the South Korean boy band BTS has been announced. This one is BTS Universe Story, and it will allow users to create their own stories and then share them for other fans to enjoy.

Vengeful Heart Release Date Announced

The revenge-themed visual novel Vengeful Heart will be out for PC on August 28 for $9.99. Set in a polluted world where water is a precious resource, it follows a former engineer seeking revenge against the system that destroyed her future. A demo is currently available.

Danganronpa 2 Released on Mobile

After it was announced earlier this year that the Danganronpa series would be coming to mobile devices, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition saw a surprise release on iOS and Android devices this week. The mobile version features optimized UI, touchscreen controls, and a bonus gallery.
