VN Game Den is introducing a new series called “Cover My VN” where indie game developers can let us know what games they’ve recently released through this form. We’ll be letting you, the readers, know what games are on our radar each month in a handy list!

So, let’s jump right into it and take a look at these visual novels that were submitted to us this month!

20 years ago, a mysterious event happened, leaving some children born with strange powers. With these strange powers comes unmistakable danger. Follow the students of Aurora Academy as they try to unearth the mystery of what really happened all those years ago. This modern fantasy game was fully funded on Kickstarter! It includes 6 romance routes and over 60 hours of gameplay.

Take the role of a human running a bar in the fantasy town of Chilverre. What happens when your childhood friend, Vivi, comes from the Elven Revenue Service to audit your bar? It’s up to you to decide how you’re going to run your bar and which of seven characters you’re going to romance along the way. You can also opt out of romance altogether, and you’ll be happy to know none of these options will be gender locked.

Vic Powers is entered into the competition of a lifetime. The college track star has to compete in an intergalactic dating show where failure ends in death! Can he get the “Best Kiss” by the end of the show? This quirky sci-fi dating game features three alien love interests whose actions change depending on whether they hate or love Vic. There’s also the option for the love interests you don’t pick to team up with the others and compete against you!

This pixel art visual novel is inspired by games like the Ace Attorney and Zero Escape series. Your memory goes blank after a car accident and you’ve been charged with the murder of someone. It’s up to you to sort through the strange happenings and try to find the truth of what’s really going on. In this point-and-click adventure game, you’ll be able to gather clues and use them to help solve the mystery. 

Heart and Soul (Steam, itch.io)

Genre: Otome, Historical

Play as Psyche in the aftermath of Aphrodite’s jealous wrath. After being proclaimed one of the most beautiful beings alive, Psyche is sentenced to marry one of the most horrific men alive….though she’s surprised by what she finds in her new husband. This game adapts Greek mythology and includes several different choices with over 70,000 words of content!

Melting of the Winter Gears is a short visual novel that follows the story of a memory-less doll, a soldier without his family, a drifter who has no home, and a cat without a form of its own. This game will take you about three hours to play! This game also features an original soundtrack to enjoy.

Genre: Mystery, Yuri

In Death Becomes You, you’re on a journey to find out who killed your best friend. You can romance and question the four students from the magical university who were at the scene of the crime. Will you find the culprit among them, or is there something more nefarious going on?
